❌ Foul on Vinny Junior, immediate red: Real Madrid’s opponent was sent off after 37 seconds
Getafe professional Allan Nyom’s workday had barely begun on Sunday evening during the floodlit match in a Madrid suburb before it had actually ended.
The defender looked in great confusion at referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero when he showed him the red card. Nyom had only been on the field for 37 seconds before he fouled Vinicius Junior, wide of the ball (20 metres).
What was supposed to be a tactical error turned out to be much more brutal in practice. The Brazilian also knew how to make the most of this gift. The referee had no other choice. NEOM’s match against the Real Madrid star took place in front of both benches and, more importantly, in full view of the fourth official.
In fact, after receiving the red card, Nyom spent more time on the pitch than he did after being substituted. It was also due to his disbelief. The 37-year-old was not aware of any wrongdoing. But after the first video replay of the incident, there was no doubt.
Things moved just as quickly after the start of the second half, as Kylian Mbappe immediately took advantage of the new numerical superiority and scored the winning goal for the Royal team just 20 seconds after the restart. And Getafe? And in the space of a minute, they had destroyed everything they had worked so hard for over 76 minutes, namely getting a point against the reigning Spanish champions.
