$100 off some of our favorite noise-canceling headphones if you act fast

You’ll have to move quickly, as both sites feature countdown timers with less than 24 hours to go as I write this.

The QuietComfort Ultra headphones sit near the top of our list of the best noise-cancelling headphones, and for good reason. They sound great, with top-notch clarity and detail, and our reviewer Ryan Waniyata was particularly impressed by the “impressive instrumental separation” and “wide, expansive soundstage.” The bass is a little boomy out of the box, but a quick EQ adjustment can smooth that out straight away, and even if you prefer big bass, it’s still clear and powerful. They feel good during phone calls, in case you really need to focus while working or chatting.

Noise-canceling technology is the star here, and there are really only two companies vying for the crown, Bose and Sony. Every company has leading headphones that do an excellent job of blocking out plane engine noise, crying babies, and your neighbor in their seat, with performance so close we’ve got a dedicated guide to compare the two. There’s also a Transparency mode that’s great for when you need to stay more alert, but want to keep the music playing.

There are some other features we’re not too excited about, like a spatial audio mode that attempts to “customize” existing stereo tracks, which is a nice trick for some songs, but less so for music production or watching videos. There’s also an optional head tracking feature that tries to keep sound coming from the same places you turn. Both are a bit weird and don’t help with the QuietComfort Ultra’s already mediocre battery life of 24 hours.

Although Bose recently updated these very popular headphones, the latest version is not significantly different from these headphones. This means that these headphones are still very relevant, and one of our favorite noise-cancelling headphones, despite being on the market for a few years. Its price compared to some of its bigger competitors was a downside, so $100 off makes a big difference if that’s a deciding factor.
