Colon cancer: The risk of treating foods is superior and the need for early detection cancer

Regarding the article of Devi Sarridhar (colon cancer is increasing among young people – research refers to one of the main perpetrators, October 1), I was diagnosed with colon cancer in February of this year, at the age of 43.

I do not contradict anything written by Professor Sridhar in its article, but in my own case, the cancer was not the result of consuming very advanced foods. I have a genetic deficiency, which eventually means I am qualified for immunotherapy. This, besides surgery, fortunately means I have completely recovered.

The main reason for writing is to emphasize the importance of early detection. Although the tumor is large, the only symptoms that I have suffered are iron deficiency. I knew that low iron could be a sign of colon and rectal cancer, but it took nearly 18 months to take my fears seriously. Only through my stability, I was finally diagnosed. My message is, if you feel tired and/or breathing, ask for an iron test immediately. If you suffer from iron deficiency, ask the stool test – do not allow yourself to go out (this is particularly related to women and younger people). If you are diagnosed early enough, your chances of full recovery are very high.

I would also like to take this opportunity to highlight the amazing work that is done in the field of immunotherapy. It will be a fun game for many people. I cannot also make a mistake in the treatment I received as soon as I was in the sponsorship of the University University Hospital-it was world-class in all respects.

Davi Serridhar’s article is prepared by highly processed foods as the equivalent of the twenty -first century of tobacco. However, the article ignores one important difference: people have no choice but to eat, and the prices of foodstuffs in the UK increased by 37 % between January 2020 and July 2025. The advanced foods may be very unhealthy, but it is the only reasonable option for many, and the ban on multiple foods will lead to more attention to many who are already struggling.

Given this, based on Figures from Trosel, 14.1 million people in the United Kingdom, faced food insecurity in 2024It is morally contradictory to “encourage” people to eat more healthy with prices, which effectively creates a care tax at least well. Certainly the moral approach and the most successful approach enables people to make healthy choices by making action to reduce the cost of healthy foods, so that they are accessible to everyone.
