Prisco’s NFL Picks, Week 6: Win Chief Shootout vs. Lions, Dolphins Diversity Chargers
After a good couple of weeks, it was back to average for me last week with my own NFL picks.
The good news is that it wasn’t a losing week. I went 8-6 straight and 7-7 against the spread.
That’s cooler the way I was going.
My season records are now 57-20-1 straight and 43-35 ATS. Anytime they can exceed .500 ATS after five weeks, that’s a good start for the year.
Like the difference in NFLNow it’s time. This is when the contenders emerge and the pretenders start to fade.
I plan on being a competitor, so here we go.

The Eagles lost for the first time last week and haven’t looked that impressive in getting to 4-1. They need to run Saquon Barkley more and they’ll take his former team on this one. The Giants turned the ball over too much in the loss to the Saints last week and I think Jaxson Dart is going to have some problems against the Eagles defense. Big eagles.
He chooses: Eagles 29, Giants 17 | Odds via betmgm

The Jets are a disaster now at 0-5, showing nothing on defense. The Broncos are riding high after beating the Eagles last week. Bo Nix played better in the second half of that game than he has all year, and that will continue here. The Jets don’t deal and the Broncos will take advantage.
He chooses: Broncos 26, Jets 14 | Odds via betmgm

The Colts impressed in beating the Raiders last week, while Arizona is coming off the kind of loss to the Titans that could demoralize a team. This will be a real challenge for Arizona’s defense and I think Daniel Jones will continue to play well. Colts take it.
He chooses: Colts 27, Cardinals 24 | Cross probabilities Sports Caesar

The Steelers are coming off a bye, while the Browns are coming off a loss to the Vikings in London last week. Dillon Gabriel made his first start at quarterback in that game and handled himself well, but he didn’t put up big numbers because they played it safe. The Steelers played well in getting to 3-1, especially Aaron Rodgers. But this Browns defense will keep them in the game. It’s close.
He chooses: Steelers 21, Browns 18 | Odds via Fanduel Sportsbook, where new users Get $300 in bonus bets with a $5 bet:

The Cowboys are playing back-to-back road games, but are rolling with Dak Prescott. The Panthers came back to beat Miami last week, but slowing down Prescott will be a big challenge. Look for the Cowboys offense to keep rolling as their defense continues to improve. Dallas wins it.
He chooses: Cowboys 30, Panthers 21 | Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook
Sunday, 1 p.m. on CBS (stream on Paramount+)
This is a long journey for a Chargers hitting squad that didn’t play well in the second half last week in their loss to the Commanders. Dolphins are coming off a bad loss to the Panthers. Their defense struggled to stop the run, but the Chargers struggled with injury issues on their line and in the backfield. The Dolphins will win this game behind a good game by Tua Tagovailoa.
He chooses: Dolphins 27, Chargers 26 | Cross probabilities Sports Caesar
Sunday 1pm on Fox (stream: Fubo – Try for free)
The Ravens are a mess, while the Rams are coming off a bad loss to the 49ers at home. The Ravens will likely be without Lamar Jackson again, and the padded defense can’t stop anyone. The Rams’ defense didn’t play well against the 49ers, but it will here. The Rams take it.
He chooses: Rams 31, Ravens 17 | Odds via betmgm
Sunday, 1 p.m. on CBS (stream on Paramount+)
The Patriots are riding high after beating the Bills on Sunday night, but this will be a tough game coming off such a big victory. The Saints beat the Giants last week while Spencer Rutter and the defense played great. This will be a challenge for the Patriots and Drake Maye. It’s close, but Maye will win it late.
He chooses: Patriots 22, Saints 21 | Cross probabilities Sports Caesarwhere new users get 20% of the profit boosts the CBS20X token:

This is a long trip for Seattle, but the Jaguars are playing on a short week, which results in an exit. Seattle didn’t look good last week on defense. But this has the look of a shootout to me. Look for the Jaguars to keep rolling as Trevor Lawrence gets a brutal win against Sam Darnold.
He chooses: Jaguars 33, Seahawks 30 | Odds via betmgm
Tennessee Titans at Las Vegas Raiders (-4.5)
Sunday, 4:05pm on Fox (stream: Fubo – Try for free)
The Titans are playing back-to-back road games after last week’s Miracle fashion win at Arizona State. The Raiders were blown out by the Colts last week in a game in which they looked lifeless. Geno Smith didn’t play well, but I think he’ll play better here. Raiders win.
He chooses: Raiders 27, Titans 17 | Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook
Sunday, 4:25 p.m. on CBS (stream on Paramount+)
The Bengals have major offensive issues with Jake Browning playing linebacker, which is why they traded for Joe Flacco. Both quarterbacks are on the road against a good Packers defense coming off the bye. This is going to be ugly for the Bengals again as Green Bay wins it, thanks to a defense that didn’t play well last time out.
He chooses: Packers 31, Bengals 17 | Cross probabilities Sports Caesar
Sunday, 4:25 p.m. on CBS (stream on Paramount+)
The 49ers are resting after playing last Thursday, which will help the injured. They upset the Rams, while Tampa Bay beat Seattle behind Baker Mayfield last week. Mac Jones played well for the 49ers, but Mayfield and the Bucs are on a hot streak. They’ll keep it rolling.
He chooses: Buccaneers 30, 49ers 20 | Odds via FanDuel Mathematical
Sunday, 8:20pm on NBC (stream: Fubo – Try for free)
The Chiefs are on a short week coming off a tough loss to the Jaguars on Monday night. But they face a black team caught. The leaders are desperate, and I think that will show here. The Chiefs would win a high-scoring game, taking advantage of the Lions’ injured defense. Patrick Mahomes will win it late.
He chooses: Heads 34, Black 30 | Odds via FanDuel Mathematical
Monday, 7:15 PM ET on ESPN (stream: Fubo – Try for free)
The Bills are coming off their first loss Sunday night, while the Falcons are coming off a bye. The Falcons will present a tough challenge for the Bills’ defense, but I think this game will be about Josh Allen. He will start hitting shots down the field in the passing game, which hasn’t happened much this season, as the Bills have won it.
He chooses: Bills 33, Falcons 27 | Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook
Chicago Bears (+4.5) in Washington leaders
Monday, 8:15 PM ET on ABC (stream: Fubo – Try for free)
This game matches Caleb Williams against Jayden Daniels, a top 2024 pick NFL Draft. They met last year in a match that was won over cold by Daniels. The Bears are coming off a bye and two straight wins, but this game will be won by Daniels who outplayed Williams. Leaders take it.
He chooses: Leaders 31, Bears 27 | Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook
