Trump visits Walter Reed for a “routine annual checkup,” the second since April | Donald Trump
Donald Trump, the oldest man to be president of the United States, will visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday for what the White House described as a “routine annual checkup.”
“Friday morning, President Trump will visit Walter Reed Medical Center for a planned meeting and remarks with troops,” White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt said in a statement on Wednesday. “While there, President Trump will stop by for his routine annual checkup. He will then return to the White House.”
This is the second time since his return to the White House in January that the president has gone to Walter Reed to take the exam. Last time, tests included cognitive and heart disease. It is not clear what exactly this examination will involve.

The health report, released by the White House, declared Trump “fully competent to execute the duties” of the presidency. It noted that the President’s “repeated victories in golf events” contributed to his “excellent” physical and mental health.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Levitt said that Trump is “thinking about going to the Middle East soon” after his consultations on Friday. The president said earlier on Wednesday that he was considering a visit to Egypt this weekend as part of his effort to finalize an agreement to end the two-year-old war in Gaza.
Since being examined in April, Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that can cause swelling, which the president also suffered from in his legs and is common in older people. Trump’s doctor also addressed concerns about bruising on the president’s hand, attributing it to irritation caused by frequent handshakes and his use of aspirin as a standard regimen for preventing cardiovascular disease.
Recent images of a purple bruise on Trump’s hand, which appeared to be covered by a patch of makeup, have sparked online speculation that the president is ill.
Trump has long been cautious about his health, and concern about the president’s well-being dates back to his first term. But the wild rumors came to a head when the president disappeared from public view for several days over the summer, with pundits and TikTok influencers speculating that the president was on his deathbed. “I’ve never felt better in my life!” Trump then wrote an assertion that only fueled suspicions about the cover-up.
Questions about the 79-year-old president’s mental abilities have emerged in recent weeks after a series of strange and distorted appearances and erratic behavior online.
