Kate Middleton wore a bolder, more modern version of her jumpsuit

This appearance came hours after the princess published an article in which she warned parents of the dangers of using devices at home.

The article, written in collaboration with Professor Robert Waldinger of Harvard Medical School, was published today on the institute’s website Royal Foundation for Early Childhood Centre. Children’s mental health and wellbeing has become a pillar of Middleton’s royal work as she champions the importance of early years development.

“When we check our phones during conversations, scroll social media during family dinners, or respond to emails while playing with our kids, we are not only distracted, we are withdrawing the most basic form of love that human connection requires,” Kate wrote in the article.

She explains the paradox at the heart of smart devices, saying they are designed to encourage connection but “often do the opposite.” Pointing to research evidence, the Princess of Wales says creating healthy, nurturing relationships within families and between loved ones has lifelong health benefits.

But it’s more than just an intellectual exercise for Middleton. Prince William recently revealed that none of his children are allowed to have a smartphone as he encourages them to have quality, screen-free family time at home.
