Cynthia Erivo. To participate in an animated musical film called “Bad Fairies”


Cynthia Erivo will star in the animated musical Bad fairiesthe upcoming feature from Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Locksmith Animation. The film is an original musical comedy that follows a gang of cheerfully subversive fairies as they rock their magical world. The film is directed by Megan Nicole Dong and co-directed by Olivier Stafilas, from an original screenplay by Deborah Frances White.

Erivo will voice Jayne Staplegun, the pioneering fairy whose defiant plan sparks rebellion. Bad fairies It marks Erivo’s first major role in a major animated film.

Tony Award-winning duo Toby Marlowe and Lucy Moss will write the original songs, and Grammy Award-nominated Isabella “Machine” Summers (Florence + The Machine) will write the score and contribute songs.

The film’s creative team also includes producer Caroline Suber, sim editor Evan Jones, cinematographer James C.J. Williams, character designer Uwe Heidschotter, and story leads Riki Asbjoern and Chris Garbutt. Production is currently underway in London, with DNEG Animation serving as digital partner.
