Shortly after news of Diane Keaton’s death broke, tributes poured in from all over Hollywood, including from her former stars. Jane Fonda, Keaton Book club The co-star shared a statement with Vulture. Fonda wrote: “It is difficult to believe…or accept…Diane’s death. She was always a spark of life and light, constantly laughing at her own foibles, and endlessly creative…in her acting, her wardrobe, her books, her friends, her homes, her library. She was one of a kind. And though she didn’t know it or admit it, she was a wonderful actress!” Bette Midler, who starred alongside Keaton in the film First Wives ClubShare Keaton’s photo on Instagramshe remembers her “brilliant, beautiful and extraordinary” friend. “I can’t tell you how unbearably sad this makes me,” Midler wrote on October 11. “She was hilarious, completely original, and completely devoid of guile or any competitiveness one would expect from such a star.” I remembered Keaton in a statement on

In an interview shortly before Keaton’s death, Paulson described her as “the most generous, funny, funny, energetic performer, and she really taught me the power of being in a scene.”
