Manchester United legend gives his verdict on Alejandro Garnacho’s move to Chelsea

The former Manchester United star has given his verdict on Alejandro Garnacho’s move to Chelsea during the summer.

The Argentina international left Old Trafford for Stamford Bridge after falling out with United manager Ruben Amorim.

After breaking into the first team under Erik Ten Hag in 2022, Jarnacho has established himself as an integral part of United’s squad.

However, he was deemed surplus to requirements after publicly criticizing the coach following United’s defeat in the Europa League final last season.

This led to the player being sold to United’s Premier League rival, Chelsea, for a cut-price deal in the summer.

However, the move did not go down well with large sections of United’s fan base, and now the former United star has shared his thoughts on the move.

Teddy Sheringham describes Alejandro Garnacho’s move to Chelsea as ‘disappointing’

Teddy Sheringham is not happy with Alejandro Garnacho’s move to Chelsea and has made his feelings known.

While talking to subwayThe former United striker said: “I think Alejandro Garnacho is a very talented player, but only time will tell if he is able to achieve success at Chelsea.”

“He will be disappointed not to come on to the bench for the game at Old Trafford. He made a big move by leaving Manchester United for Chelsea, a move I would not have advised him to do if I had been part of his team.

“When you’re at United, you have to do your best to make it work. It’s the biggest club in the world, so you won’t leave for a better club, and the chance to come back won’t be there, especially with the way he left and the way the fans reacted to him.”

While Sheringham is right in his assessment of Jarnacho’s move to the Blues, the player has time on his side.

Regardless of how things end at United, Jarnacho has the ability and time to establish himself as a great player at Stamford Bridge.

But he will have to control his mercurial attitude in order to succeed in his new home.
