Banijay revives the comedy after a decade


Will Mackenzie, Simon Cooper, Neil Sutherland and Jay Cartwright are set for another round of adventures.

Pinyin He is set to return to the screen after more than a decade under a deal struck by Banijay UK and Fudge Park Productions.

Banijay has not revealed whether a film or TV series is in development by creators Ian Morris and Damon Paisley, though a film set in Las Vegas has been teased. Repeat phase may also be considered.

Pinyin It was launched as a television series on Channel 4’s E4 youth network in 2008, with a second season broadcast two years later. This was followed by two films in 2011 and 2014, both of which topped the UK box office.

It is produced by Bwark Productions, originally founded by Morris and Paisley, which was later sold to Zodiak Media, which was acquired by Banijay in 2016. Writers created Fudge Park in 2015.

“It’s so exciting to plan more adventures for our four best friends (friends),” the duo commented.

Patrick Holland, CEO of Banjay UK, added: “I’ve worked with Damon and Ian on a number of Fudge Park projects over the years, and it’s been a pleasure following the conversation about the future of Pinyin With them. They have an infectious creative vision for the brand that will resonate with audiences old and new, so I can’t wait to get started.”

In August of last year, Pinyin Actor Joe Thomas (Simon) has said that he and co-stars James Buckley (Jay), Simon Bird (Will) and Blake Harrison (Neil) would consider reuniting for a third film.

“We’re all still around, we’re all still in each other’s lives. We all still love each other. And if something were to happen, I think we’d want to do it,” Thomas said.

A bachelor party, also known as a bachelorette party, could be the perfect way to reunite, Thomas said, adding that Las Vegas would be an interesting place for the boys to reunite.
