The year 2024 saw the first living person to receive a pig kidney transplant

On March 16, Richard Solomon became the first person alive to receive a genetically modified pig kidney. Less than a month later, Lisa Pisano became the second. Now, Tawana Looney is the third, having undergone the procedure on November 25.
