Two Chinese citizens are accused of exporting Nvidia AI chips to China
The US Department of Justice (doj) said on Tuesday that two Chinese citizens were arrested and were charged with millions of dollars from the strong artificial intelligence chips to China.
The Ministry of Justice has claimed that over the past three years, ALX Solutions, a company where Chuan Jing and Choui Yang has exported chips from the United States to China without the required licenses.
The BBC’s court documents claim that the shipments included the H100 graphics units from NVIDIA (GPUS), which has become the main axis of US export controls aimed at stopping China’s purchase of advanced technology.
A NVIDIA spokesman said the case shows that its chips smuggled “uncommon.”
She added that NVIDIA sells products to well -known partners who help ensure that all sales are complied with US export control rules.
“Even relatively small exporters and shipments are subject to comprehensive review and scrutiny, and no limited products will have any service, support or updates.”
According to court documents, California -based ALX Solutions had three well -known employees: Mr. Geng dealt with the company’s financial affairs, Mrs. Yang was a secretary of her, while her CEO was not named in the documents.
The Ministry of Justice said The three individuals practiced the “full decisions and charging coordination” of the company.
A statement by the Ministry of Justice said that Mr. Jing was a permanent resident in California, and Mrs. Yang, “illegal foreigner” exceeded her visa.
Business records showed that the company sent several times from the United States to the shipping companies in Singapore and Malaysia between October 2022 and July 2025, as the Ministry of Justice said, noting that both countries are using transit centers “to hide illegal charges” to China.
AlX did not receive payments from these shipping companies and will be paid instead by other companies based in Hong Kong and China. This batch included a value of one million dollars (750,000 pounds) from a China -based company in January 2024.
Last December, ALX sent a shipment with the resisting export computing chips – including NVIDIA H100 and GeForce RTX 4090 GPU – which was examined by American customs, according to court documents.
The documents said: “AlX Solutions, GING or Yang did not submit a request to obtain a license from the Ministry of Commerce or obtain it.”
In 2023 bills worth more than $ 28.4 million, AlX is claimed that ALX has announced a small, super computer, which is a resource for NVIDIA potatoes, that devices were requested for a customer in Singapore.
The court document said that the export control officer in the United States in Singapore was unable to verify that the chips had arrived in the country and that the company named is not present at the included location.
“AlX Solutions seems to ship NVIDIA products for different final users.”
Super Micro immediately did not respond to a request from BBC, but he said in a statement to Reuters news agency that he was “strongly committed to compliance with all US export monitoring regulations.”
He added that he will not comment on a continuous legal issue, but he cooperates with the authorities in any such procedures.
The Ministry of Justice said that Mrs. Yang was arrested on Saturday, while Mr. Jing surrendered to the authorities shortly after.
The Ministry of Justice said that the couple appeared in the Federal Court of Los Angeles on Monday. If you convict them, they may face up to 20 years in prison.
AlX Solutions does not seem to have a website, according to court documents. The Web website, for AlX-Cloud, a specialist in cloud computing services, explains that it is a company affiliated with the company.
The British Broadcasting Corporation was not able to immediately locate the lawyers of the lawyers for Mr. Jing and Mrs. Yang, but called AlX-Cloud to request a statement.
