OXNARD, Calif. — Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stood yards away from talented edge rusher Micah Parsons during his team’s joint practice against the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday. However, that relative proximity didn’t lead to an advance in contract talks with the Cowboys’ top defensive star.

Jones shared he has not spoken to Parsons nor started contract negotiations with his agent, David Mulugheta, since he demanded a trade on Friday. He also went on to say that he’s uncertain if Parsons will play in the Cowboys’ season opener against the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 4, which also serves as the opener to the 2025 NFL regular season.

“No, absolutely not,” Jones said. “A big part of that is his decision. How would I know that? I’m just saying, but I’m urgent.”

Jones and a disgruntled Parsons traded jabs over the weekend. Frustrated with the lack of progress on a contract extension, Parsons demanded a trade in a long post on X on Friday.

The next day, Jones said that he would not trade Parsons and reject any concerns about the confrontation, and asks the fans not to lose any sleep on him.

Cowboy and Barsons remain in deadly contracts to extend the contract, which is likely to make Pennsylvania’s producer the highest profit in the American Football Association. Parsons, 26, in the last year of his rising contract, which will pay him $ 24 million.

Parsons did not exercise again on Tuesday, as he continued to “suspend him.” Watch Tuesday training with his 11 white shirt and sweat from the margin. He spent part of the practice in talking to the former attack man in Rams Andrew and Whitworth, who worked as a guide.

Jones reported that he believed that cowboy and Barsons had reached an agreement to shake hands with the terms of the contract in a discussion between the two earlier this year without the present-day Parsons agent-which is the 26-year-old corridor.

“There is no doubt that if the player holds, you must get it in writing,” Jones said. “All parties do that. We have a written contract, however we are still talking about reinstating it.”

When asked about the thorny point between the two sides, Jones used to say: “There are points of varying degrees and effects in not doing something, but nothing would I like to say about the ordinary.”

While the common practice between cowboy and raptures has gave distraction that affects the need for the continuous contract, Jones still sees a player in Parsons he wants in the barn.

“I think the world of Mika,” said Jones. “As I said, I spent a lot of social time with Micah – this is not always the case – but I have. It’s one of the brightest people who were ever present. It’s very very talented. How do we eventually tell him a future that is a challenge.

“But I was built for that, and it was built for that.”
