Done -drones can be transported to the sky with their full power, following a prominent base proposed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The long-awaited base aims to allow drones to work outside the visual sight (BVLOS)-a step designed to counter China’s drone.
Currently, operators must obtain individual exemptions from FAA – only 657 released so far – to fly drones beyond where they can see them physically, while hindering months of delay and bureaucratic setbacks. “Because of these complications, I do not think we have seen the innovation that we should be in America,” the Minister of Transport said. This organizational transformation comes amid increasing concern that the drone industry in the United States is behind a Chinese sector dominated by companies such as DJI, which controls 90 percent of the global drone market.
Critics have warned that investment and development were drifted to China while the American bases are based on drones.
“From search, rescue and public safety to delivery, this is a great victory for every industry and an institution that will benefit from the expanded use of drones,” Representative Jin Keghans, R-VA, who led the efforts to expand the use of drones in Congress, told Fox News Digital. “Our society will not go back. Use drones a reality.”

President Donald Trump issued executive orders in June 2025, when he prepared the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to expedite the development of BVLOS bases and direct federal agencies for US drones while tightening Chinese Chinese models.
Despite the strong momentum, FAA has a date of the lost final dates. Industry groups and legislators have noticed that NPRM had already been delayed at the deadline of Congress, which was started by the FAA re -mandate for 2024, which called for a proposed base within four months of legislation and a final rule within 20 months. Industry experts have warned that other delays threaten billions in economic opportunities for the drone sector in America.
They say it has resulted in a widespread delay of drones to perform tasks such as examining power lines and pipelines or transporting medical supplies between facilities.

The new rule launches an official public suspension period, which is expected to last about 60 days. Government agencies, drones and public safety partners will review the draft and make notes. After the review, FAA aims to finish the BVLOS base by early 2026, although this schedule depends on the size of the comments and the remaining organizational work.
It comes at a time when the audience remains shocking due to the business accidents. But the new rule will require the construction of such drones through the technique of avoiding collision that can feel and move away from the planes and fly at a height of 400 feet or less.
