Only one minute of strong exercise a day can add years to your life


The exercise should not last for a long time to provide great benefits

If you do not exercise for exercise, doing five or six strong activities, each lasts only 10 seconds or so every day, it can make a big difference. A study in the United States found that people who did a little more than a minute of strong activity every day were less likely to die than any reason for the next six years than those who did nothing.

They did this by making people who are already participating in major health studies to wear screens for one week to assess their regular activity levels, then look at the risk of death in the following years.

In 2023, the researchers reported the results of tens of thousands of people participating in the study of the biological bank in the United Kingdom. They found that those who carried out about 4.4 minutes of strong activities a day were 38 percent less likely to die than any reason for the next seven or eight years than those who did nothing.

Now, the team has reported the results of 3,300 people participating in the NHANES study in the United States, who were generally less convenient than those in the study of vital banks. “They are more overweight and obese, on average, and they do a much less physical activity,” says Stamatakis.

In this group, only 1.1 minutes of strong activity was required to reduce the risk of any cause of the next six years by 38 percent.

This means that 1.1 minutes in this least American group produced the same relative improvement as 4.4 minutes in the Fitter UK group, but this does not mean that it reaches the same level of health. His team is now planning more studies that can provide stronger evidence that the health benefits that have been seen are really as a result of more accidental exercises. The long -term goal is to find ways to increase the amount of exercises that people get while doing daily activities. “We hope that one day we can intervene to help people increase their accidental activity without having to go to gyms,” says Stamatakis.
