Alcaraz vs. Djokovic in the US Open: How can each of them win
New York – Novak Djokovic knows that the world expects another permanent between Janek Aiteh and Carle Caras on Sunday in the United States Open.
Even he – the man who has the most important titles in history and a person who spent 428 weeks on classifications – believes that the best players in the world. Frankly, he spoke about how important the duo of the sport and its future.
But despite all this, Djokovic, 38, is not completely ready to pass the stick yet.
Djokovic said after winning the quarter -finals against Taylor Fritz on Tuesday. “I will try, as you know, fill out most people’s plans.”
Djokovic will have its opportunity to do this on Friday, as the 22 -year -old Alcaraz, ranked No. 2 in a semi -final, is impatiently expected. The winner will either face the highest-class sinner or 25 Felix Auger-Aliassime, who also plays on Friday, in Sunday. Alcaraz and Sinner played against each other in the previous four championships, in Wimbledon and the French open, and guarantee to win the last seven major titles.
On Friday, the ninth job meeting between Djokovic and Alcaraz will be celebrated with Djokovic with a 5-3 edge, with two newer wins. However, even with this date, the caraz is still preferred to win the match.
For both players, there is a lot on the line. Djokovic hopes to keep his dream alive in winning his 25th title in the Championships Championships, which will be drawn most of the time with Margaret Court, and Alcaraz wants to reach his third main final in a row and may win at the sixth of his career.
Here’s everything you need to know before the semi -finals on Friday.
Can Djokovic do that?
Djokovic has some things that go on. First, he was never lost in front of Al -Karaz in the solid court. The last meeting, in the quarter -finals of the Australian Open Championship for the start of the year, witnessed the return of Djokovic – after suffering an early leg injury and dropping the opening group – behind strong ground subscriptions, strong defense and old movement that looks better and better with the progress of the match.
Alcaraz later admitted that Djokovic’s injury caused a little loss, and Djokovic imposed his extensive job experience in helping him overcome the obstacle and any distraction.
Throughout the US Open, Djokovic was pushed into four groups in three of its five matches, including its 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Fritz on Tuesday. He was subjected to some fears of injuries, with varying degrees of severity, throughout the tournament and the season, and was grateful to spend an additional day in the semi -finals. It is possible that he will need it. During the semi -finals, Djokovic spent nearly 3 hours in court more than his younger opponent.
“I will try to take one day at one time, really take care of my body, and try to relax and recover,” Djokovic said in the early morning hours. “The next two days is really essential for me to really get my body and ready to fight five groups if necessary.
“I just really love it, I like to be fit enough to play – and a possibility of five sets with Carlos. I know the best tennis will need, but I will go up to this occasion.”
He admitted that he did not feel “very new at the present time” at his press conference after the quarter -finals, but he was optimistic. He was also confident in his ability to “grind”, as he did against Fritz, and finds an additional gear in the most important moments. “You just have to play your heart and fight,” he said. “This is what gave me winning at the end.”
Although he is not in its main form, Djokovic has shown himself as a tremendous enemy to spend the father’s time throughout his race in New York. He moved around the stadium easily, and has been moved by his strong service all the time. He was victorious in 92 % of the service games and had 57 overwhelming. Not to mention, he has also won 33 % of return games.
“I think it always serves well, for example, in his first facade,” Fritz said on Tuesday night. “It strikes its positions well. He gets a large amount of free points and effects … I think what made it difficult in the past is the amount of contrast at its second service.”
Djokovic’s opponent in the third round, Cameron Nuri, who had previously played him six times, was equally hidden in his praise.
Nuri said: “He served incredibly well, and perhaps the best that he served against me,” Nuri said. “I was really affected by that.”
Well, but the Caraz is still preferred to win the match, right?
Yes. There was no one more dominant for the two weeks of the caraz. Upon his arrival in New York after he just won the title in Cincinnati, he was the only man who reached the quarter -finals without dropping a group and faced only one run in his five matches. It was almost unable, even against high -quality opponents.
Alcaraz said that Jerry Lika, ranked No. 20 of the championship, who defeated Alcaraz defeated him in the quarter -finals in less than two hours.
“If you want to overcome it, you need to win at least a few big points, and all of them won,” Lika said on Tuesday. “Even when I really played a good gathering, even when I tried to put it under pressure, go to the network, change the rhythm, and do something, was there, and he had an answer to everything I tried.”
If not all of this, Alcaraz won 99 % of service games – all except for one – in New York. He told reporters that his service was his primary focus for improvement last year and his guest, and his consistency with it, for his recent results.
“Tennis is really difficult at times, because one day you can really provide it, and the next match you can feel that you are completely different and really bad.” “So I am trying to keep focusing on the service, just try to do everything as is the case and get a good feeling.”
Alcaraz said he knew that Djokovic was “hungry” and had “ambition for more” when thinking about his (potential) clash, but he said he had his own motives: revenge. “It is clear,” he said on Tuesday, while he was hinting at their previous matches.
So, who will win this match?
One thing is certain: Both players will attend his best level and a steady desire to advance to Sunday.
Djokovic overcame the caramels on this surface in the Grand championship this season, so he knows exactly what he needs to do in order to accomplish it again. More importantly, he thinks he can do so. He also fully realizes the time in his career, and he only has limited opportunities to achieve his dream for 25.
But whether this will stimulate or not be confused in the state of high pressure, but it still must be seen after a series of exits in the semi -finals. Djokovic also knows that the longer the match, the more you prefer the younger and the nests, so it will need to get out strongly from the first point.
He has no weight on his shoulders. But what he has is confidence, and a game that clicks on all cylinders. He did not face many adversity throughout his operation, but if he could deal with those moments, and if after its appearance, it remains closed, then this is the match of winning it.
Prediction: Caraz in four groups.
