All Creatures Great and Small, seasons 7 and 8 are coming to PBS Masterpiece and 5
Hit period drama All creatures great and small Returns to PBS Masterpiece and 5 for seasons seven and eight.
The co-producers of the remake of the 1970s BBC show about a vet in the English county of Yorkshire have shown their dedication by ordering another double season as well as a Christmas special. A sublicense means that this version was produced by Wolf Hall Maker Playground has now surpassed the original in terms of number of seasons.
Season 6 just wrapped on 5 UK and will launch on PBS on January 11. The series jumps forward in time to 1945. The intervening years have seen the Skeldale gang dispersed somewhat with James and Helen now living on Heston Grange, Tristan serving overseas, Mrs Hall away and Siegfried struggling to cope on their own in Skeldale, but they happily reunite as the war in Europe comes to an end and they look forward to a peaceful future.
All creatures great and small It was the biggest drama for 5 since the Paramount-owned network returned to the scripted game several years ago. It was used as an example of one of Britain’s biggest TV exports today by a producer trade body report earlier this week. 5 is about to release an accompanying documentary as well as a Christmas special.

Yvonne Francas returns as producer. The show is based on the books by James Herriot.
