Amazon MGM Studios supports the launch of the Tasver South Asian Prduce Lab Laboratory Laboratory
The non -profit Tasveer, which is based in Seattle, is expanding its scope by launching the Tasver Producers Laboratory, a guiding program designed to grow the next generation of South Asia’s productive talent.
The laboratory, which will work outside Los Angeles as an extension of the Oscar -qualified Film Festival and Tasfir, has chosen five projects from more than 100 notes for its opening regiment. The competitive program targets the producers of South Asia’s origin and projects rooted in the diaspora experience.
This initiative leads Milan Chairporte, the head of a movie at Marginal Mediaworks, who won the title of the first technical director of the laboratory. The veteran Eindy product brings more than 30 credit hours from Warner Bruce.
“I was a fan of TasveEer for years and I was honored to have become the first technical manager of the producers laboratory,” said Chairporte. “The diaspora in South Asia has achieved incredible steps over the past few years; however, it has become difficult ever obtaining a meaningful distribution to independent films and creating a sustainable profession as a film producer. We know that our stories and talent are an original IP of valuable with a global resonance.”
The 2025 group features a variety of projects that extend from the types of horror to political drama. The selected teams include Anisa Khan and Vinai Ombathy with “The Settler”, a 1993 excitement movie about an Indian immigrant facing dark powers in the rural state of Texas; “Friends and Fascism”, “Friends and Fascism”, is located in an Indian Catholic Internal School; Karan Shah and Janeani Vegayanathane are a “silent wave”, to explore reproductive rights in the post -Texas.
They were also chosen “dusk fever”, which is a provocative story about identity and ethnic relationships, and the philosopher Ali and Samantha Skinner “on Earth as it is in heaven”, a family drama that was placed during the summer of Houston.
The program is revealed in two phases. Fellows will meet from August 14 to 17 in Los Angeles Luke workshops at Amazon MGM studios, followed by virtual sessions in September. The coronation comes in the Tasver Film Market (from October 8 to 10 in Seattle), where the participants will display their projects for a $ 10,000 development grant.

The laboratory represents the latest expansion of the Tasveer industry initiatives, which includes its annual cinematic festival in its twentieth year, as well as financing and market programs. The Foundation, founded in 2002, is the main defender of South Asia’s voices in international cinema.
Among the final candidates for the program are Rajndra Thakorethi, Sherriyar Best, Kajri Akhtar, Vinnie Anand, Cartic Bahrvaf, and Shane Collins.
