Imagine being chased by a man called the Grabber? How about knowing what to watch from the recommender? Here we go: We have a Blumhouse sequel that will hopefully be even better M3GAN 2.0. (I’m personally invested in his success in my MFL lineup.) Then there’s Keanu Reeves, who plays an angel who may not be great at his job in Aziz Ansari’s new movie. And there’s Mark Ruffalo, who stars in the Mubi and HBO TV series that premiere and end respectively on Sunday.

The villain with the worst name is back to scare kids to death, but this time, Grabber (Ethan Hawke) plays a more Freddy Krueger-style role. in Black phone 2the survivor of Grabber’s kidnapping in the last film, Finn’s (Mason Thames) sister, Gwen (Madeleine McGraw), is the object of the villain’s obsession. He haunts her dreams, giving her violent nightmares of children in trouble.

Keanu Reeves plays an angel named Gabriel who loses his wings in Aziz Ansari’s directorial debut. We call it inversely It’s a wonderful life– Mode type. All Gabriel wanted to do was show Aziz’s character that money isn’t everything, as he trades his body with his rich boss (Seth Rogen). He shouldn’t do this. —James Grebe

“After fishing It’s absorbing and well-acted, and Guadagnino ladles in the Ivy League setting (the locations are pretty accurate to New Haven and Yale, even though the film was shot in London, and it’s a CGI demon that I have a hard time wrapping my head around), but despite its deliberate pacing and chatty script, it’s not the violent, intellectual drama it wants to be.
