Biden begins radiation therapy for diagnosis of aggressive prostate cancer

Former President Joe Biden is entering a new phase of treatment for the prostate cancer he was diagnosed with in May.
A spokesperson for the former president told Fox News on Saturday that Biden is now undergoing radiation therapy. The spokesman added that he had previously undergone routine examinations.
“As part of his prostate cancer treatment plan, President Biden is currently undergoing radiotherapy and hormone therapy,” the spokesperson said.
Biden was diagnosed four months ago with an “aggressive form” of metastatic prostate cancer after health officials discovered a prostate nodule following an increase in urinary symptoms. His office said the disease, although aggressive, is hormone sensitive, meaning it can be managed effectively.

Biden, who turns 83 next month, also underwent surgery on September 4 to remove cancerous skin cells through a procedure known as Mohs surgery, according to his spokesman.

In 1988, Biden suffered a life-threatening brain aneurysm at the age of 45. Doctors said he had a 50% chance of survival while serving as a US senator from Delaware.

In a summary of the evaluation, the president’s physician, Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella, stated that Trump “remains in exceptional health, demonstrating strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological and physical functioning.”
