Blue wave indicators are not present as it was in the first period of Trump
Steve Cornki analysis
The blue wave that boycotted the first term of President Donald Trump can be seen from a distance. This time, the signs are not completely clear.
By the fall of 2017, the first year of Trump in his position, the Democrats had made great progress in the public vote in Congress. On this day in 2017, according to The average real opinion policy policy policyDemocrats advanced 7.8 points. It is a margin that would continue in one way or another during the following year, and its climax reached 40 seats in the 2018 mid -elections that gave Democrats to control the House of Representatives.
Today, in contrast to that, Average RCP Democrats rose by only 3 points in the public polling. This comes despite the fact that the rate of general approval of the Trump job is located at a low level to the mid -1940s – similar to his first term – and as he continues to obtain negative reviews of his dealings with economics and inflation.
However, the views of Trump’s opposition appear completely different today from eight years ago. In the period before the 2018 mid -elections, the Democrats were constantly better – significantly – than Republicans in the partisan image. This time, it is a different story.
Earlier this year, Democrats recorded their lowest positive rating in the history of the NBC News survey, which dates back more than three decades. Similar results have appeared in other surveys.
One of the important factors is that Democrats who know themselves express unfavorable opinions of their party. This internal frustration – in addition to other data that shows that these voters want a more collapsed position on their party leaders – helps explain the reason for the adoption of Democrats in Washington to close the government.
This also raises questions about other new tactical or ideology steps that Democratic leaders may take to appease their electoral base – and whether the wider voter fans will accept them. During the first period of Trump, independents had a less negative view of the Democrats compared to the Republicans. Now, it is more than just washing.
Of course, in order to restore the House of Representatives next year, Democrats do not need a wave; The net win with only three seats will be the same. However, the Republicans may end up raising this number effectively to high individual numbers through efforts to redress the circles in the middle of the contract.
Usually, the opposition party can rely on strengthening the midterm elections by working as a protest to express the dissatisfaction that voters want to express towards the White House. But in the atmosphere of the day that is extremely polarized, there may be some voters who want to express their dissatisfaction with the opposition party as well.
Closing, Seventh Day: Trump increases the pressure while MTG is separated from its party on Obamacare
Caroline Levitt, the White House press secretary, told NBC News that the White House raised the risk of closing the government as it entered its seventh day with a draft memo saying that federal workers who were vacated are not entitled to obtain their late salaries.
The memo, which was first reported by AxiusAnd comes despite the Special Personnel Management Office September directivesWhich said that federal workers would get a retroactive wage after lifting the closure.
The memorandum also contradicts the 2019 law that requires payment of federal workers wages. The law, called the Fair Treatment Law for Government Persons for the year 2019, states that all federal employees, whether they are metaphor or consider essential and work without pay, must receive their wages after the closure ends.
In response to a question about the White House’s position on late salaries, President Donald Trump told reporters: “I would like to say that it depends on who we are talking about.” Trump also likened to the closure of a “suicide attack” by the Democrats.
The idea of deprivation of late salaries has sparked some violent reactions within the party, as Republican Senator Tom Telese described it as a “terrible message” and a “bad strategy”.
Talking about the divisions of the Republican Party: The Republic of Georgia, Margori Taylor Green, separated from her party by calling for action regarding the end of OBAMACARE program to avoid the high insurance premiums, Sahel Kapoor said.
In a Long Share on XGreen, the right -wing right -wing activist in Maga, explained that she was not in Congress when the 2010 law was approved.
“Let’s say kindly as much as possible, I am not a fan.” “But I will oppose everyone on this issue because when tax exemptions end this year, insurance premiums will double my 2026 children, along with all the wonderful families and people working hard in my area.”
“No fans in leadership did not talk to us about this or provides us with a plan to help Americans deal with the multiplication of health insurance premiums !!!” Green added.
When our colleague, Ryan Nobls, asked Green’s comments, Parliament Speaker Mike Johnson, Republican of Los Angeles, said she does not participate in the judicial committees and “may not have read some of that.” He added that “everyone has the right to express his opinion,” but “not everyone knows everything.”
At the airport: The flight delays across the United States extended for the second day, as the Federal Aviation Administration prepared for further deficiency in the airport in the midst of the closure, according to Matt Lavits and Kurki Simashkokko.
Maya Rosenberg and Jay Blackman also indicated that federal financing for air travel in rural areas will run out on Sunday if the closure continues.
In the states: Rakelle Coronel Urby reported that some conservatives depend on state funds to keep popular national parks open to tourists.
