“There was a flow of fraudulent demands using luggage signs of ejaculation,” the worker wrote. “It creates problems for people with legitimate claims.”
The post is advised to wait until you are away from the airport before removing the signs from the checked bags and avoiding leaving them in the garbage boxes in the hotel. The former hotel staff, commenting on the post, said they saw similar fraud plans that include signs in the guest rooms.
Travelers who respond to the warning also indicated that the printed climbing permits can be used in the same way, and joint examples of airports, as is the case in Japan, which provide safe disposal boxes for marks.

How dangerous is the threat of the luggage sign?
The luggage mark fraud is a documented and growing problem in 2025, with airport workers, especially luggage requests in the main airlines, as they reported an increase in missing luggage claims associated with neglected signs.
Multiple direct accounts confirm that project compensation processing is complicated by wrong claims using the details on bags of bags. However, travel security and industrial security experts note that although cases are increased, the fraud process may not be widespread or high size at this time.
Most signs only have limited information, such as name, flight number, luggage identifiers, airlines tracking systems sometimes can discover whether the claim is fake by reviewing the luggage scanning records and RFID signs. There are also no warnings or official statistics from major airlines, government authorities, or law enforcement that indicate that this technology has reached the levels of the epidemic or led to confirmed trials.

7 Ways to stay safe from the luggage mark scroll process
The luggage mark fraud may not look like the most dangerous threat to travel, but ignoring it can still leave you a fraud. Below are simple and effective steps to protect yourself.
1) Remove the marks only after leaving the airport
Wait for you to be at home, in your car, or in another private location before getting out of the signs that have been checked. This prevents the fraudsters from seizing it in public areas.
2) Shinking or destroying old signs
Do not throw signs in the garbage intact. They tear them or cut them through parquet symbols and printed details so that they cannot be reused for fake claims.
3) Avoid leaving the signs in the hotel rooms
Get rid of the signs on your own instead of leaving them in a waste basket at the hotel. Cleaning employees or other guests can find them and misuse them.
4) Also ascending permits to safe ascension
Treatment of printed climb passes the same way as luggage. Keep it so that you can destroy it safely.
5) To be on alert in the areas of claiming luggage
Watch anyone to hang out near the carosel and monitor passengers closely. Stay familiarity with your surroundings while dealing with travel documents.
6) Using digital ascension permits when possible
Choose climbing permits to mobile devices instead of printed passages. This removes the risk of neglected paper corridors in the wrong hands.
7) Reducing personal details on luggage signs
Avoid printing your full home address or the primary phone number. Instead, use your name, email to travel only, or the PO box or the business address. You can even create a simple email message for the borrowed name only for travel, which is redirected to your main induction box but maintains your own real address. In this way, honest airlines and discoverers can still reach you without exposing the sensitive personal details of deceptions.

Another way to protect yourself is a small follower place within your luggage, such as Apple Aartag or a Similar to tracking Bluetooth. These devices are connected to your phone and allows you to see where your bag is near the actual time. If you lose your bag or end in the wrong place, you will know faster than waiting for the airline to follow.
Place the tracking inside your bag instead of the handle so that it cannot be easily removed. Check its location through your phone before leaving the airport, and watching it while stopping. Although Aartags cannot prevent a person from misusing the old luggage mark, it provides you with evidence of where you are actually your bag if you need a conflict to demand lost luggage or theft.
