Channel+ Enter negotiations to obtain a minority share in UGC
France’s Canal+ announced on Tuesday that it had entered into UAC negotiations to obtain a 34 % minority stake in the historic French film company.
After acquiring the minority share, Canal+ option, after agreeing with UGC shareholders, will have full control of UGC from 2028.
UGC is a prominent French production group and a group of audiovisual production with one of the most powerful cinema chains in France, content libraries, and talent networks.
The group runs one of the largest cinema chains in France, with 48 French theaters in total and seven other sites in Belgium. Between generating and dozens of millions of acceptance every year.
