Cowboys kicker Brandon Oubre became the first kicker in NFL history to make five field goals from more than 60 yards.

ARLINGTON, Texas – When Dallas Cowboys All-Pro kicker Brandon Oubre drained a 64-yard field goal to send Dallas into overtime in an eventual 40-37 overtime win over the New York Giants in Week 2, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb He called Aubrey “the GOAT.”

It’s only Aubrey’s third NFL 2025 season, but in Dallas’ 44-22 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday afternoon, he added another bullet point to the growing resume that supports Lamb’s claim. Oubre calmly drilled a 61-yard field goal that put Dallas up 20-8 midway through the second quarter that became his fifth kick of at least 60 yards. This is the most field goals made from 60 yards or deeper in NFL history. Even the league’s official X/Twitter account added the phrase “easily” when posting highlights from his kick.

“It’s going to be a living record as kickers get better every year. It’s going to be tough to keep that number at just five,” Oubre said after the game on Sunday. “It feels good. It feels like I’ve set myself apart with a certain set of skills, which I think is hard to replicate, so I just want to keep showing that every week.”

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones finds himself amazed that he no longer gets flabbergasted when Dallas kicks from 60-plus yards. This is a testament to Aubrey.

“I’m telling you, it doesn’t surprise me, and it’s ridiculous when we go out there [from 60-plus yards]said Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones after the game.

All Dallas coach Brian Schottenheimer could do when asked about Oubre breaking the record was smile, laugh and shake his head as he thought about the most recent history Oubre made in Week 7.

“Let’s talk about the weapon,” Schottenheimer said after the game. “What’s the record, the most field goals made by 60 yards in a career? The guy’s unbelievable, he really is. He’s unbelievable.” “Duck [Prescott] And I kind of laugh because literally when we get the ball rolling, he’s 50 years old [yard line]. I’m like, “Yes, 50.” …So it’s amazing.”

Among Aubrey’s crazy accomplishments are:

  • Oubre made an NFL record 35 straight field goals to start his career.
  • Oubre’s 14 goals from 50 yards or deeper in 2024 are the most ever in a single season in NFL history.
  • He owns the longest field goal made in Cowboys history, a 65-yarder he made in Week 3 of last season against the Baltimore Ravens, which is the second-longest field goal made in NFL history.
  • She made five field goals from 60 yards or deeper, the most in NFL history.

He’s now connected on 91 of his 100 career field goal attempts. No one has attempted or made more field goals than Oubre since entering the NFL in 2023.

“My goal has always been to get to 90 percent, so we’re doing well enough to achieve that goal,” he said. “Hopefully I can continue that throughout my career.”

The only difference Oubre feels when taking a kick from 60 yards or deeper is the excitement of Dallas tally Trent Sage at the ceremonial helmet tap that follows after the kick goes through the post.

“The longer snapper hits my head harder, so yeah,” Aubrey said when asked if he felt a difference.

His range at AT&T Stadium, Schottenheimer said, is 50 where the Cowboys star is in the middle of the turf. Oubre’s star will continue to grow brighter and brighter as he continues to rewrite the all-time NFL record books.

“Looks like this is now within my scope,” Aubrey said. “It’s something I expect to do myself, so I feel like I’m doing my process and taking it like any other kick.”
