Deadspin founder for the first time to be developed as a movie in Lionsgate
Exclusive: After a competitive bidding war, Lionsgate closed a deal for the novel Lloyd McNeel’s last trip By Will Leach with Garrett Bache. The book will be published by Harper in May. Litch will serve as an executive product.
The story revolves around Lloyd McKenil, who has just learned to have months to live. He also learns that twenty years old as a policeman in Atlanta did not earn him enough money to take care of his teenager, the bishop, after he went. But when Lloyd discovers that his police benefits will increase significantly if he dies in the duty line, it comes with a plan. Lloyd begins to throw himself in one position that threatens his life after another to try to kill himself in order to provide his son. . .
