Doomsday’s “love letter” to superhero movies


Simu Liu will reprise his role as Shang-Chi Avengers: Doomsday He is teasing the film, which is scheduled to be released in 2026.

In a new interview, Leo talked about reuniting with the entire cast from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and described what fans can expect from the film directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo.

“It feels, in a lot of ways, like a love letter to this whole genre of superhero movies. And I think there’s something really fun about that,” he said.

Liu added that the film is “for all the misfits and weirdos and underdogs who grew up reading comic books and feeling like there was hope for them somehow — and it didn’t matter if they didn’t fit in — I think there will always be a special place in my heart for the entire genre.”

Avengers: Doomsday It is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026. The Russians are directing the film with a screenplay written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.
