Eric Adams comes out of the New York City mayor’s race
New York City mayor Eric Adams announced on Sunday It falls on the third party’s attempt to re -election, and the field narrows for the November election.
Adams said at A video posted on X. “The ongoing media speculation about my future and the campaign to finance the campaign to block millions of dollars has undermined my ability to raise the funds necessary for a dangerous campaign.”
In a video of nearly nine minutes, Adams said he hoped that the New York residents will see that “despite the main headlines and hints, I always put you in front of me.”
A source close to the mayor said that Adams’s leak was “unfortunate”, noting that “his policies were the best for this city.”
The question now is how Adams’s step is the municipal race in the country’s largest city.
The Adams Declaration comes weeks after speculation that he could get out of the race and help unify support behind former New York Governor Andrew Como, who also runs an attempt by an external party to the mayor against Democratic candidate Zahran Mamdani, a state legislator. Mamdani Komo was defeated in the democratic preliminary elections in June.
However, Adams’s name will remain in the ballot cards this fall, because he left the race after a final date to print it.
The current mayor was not a major factor in the race for some time. Multiple public surveys have shown in recent weeks that he runs in fourth distant place, as Mamdani has prepared two advanced number on Komo and Republican Cortis Salwa, and Adams is further.
Adams urged Khalifa “to continue the work that we started, reduce the cost of living, investing in the quality of life and survival focuses on the laser to reduce crime and turmoil through police investments, mental health, drug use, displacement services and community initiatives.”
The mayor did not support the video, but it seems that Adams has criticized Mamdani, on the pretext that “extremism grows in our policy.”
“Often, the dangerous forces use the local government to enhance divisional business schedules without a little consideration of how it is painful every day the population of New York,” he said. “The great change is welcome and necessary, but beware of those who claim the answer to destroy the system that we have built together over the generations. This is not a change, and this is chaos.”
Earlier this month, President Donald Trump told the reporters that he would like to see two crowded elections to leave the race to enhance the chances of Mamdani’s defeat, the progress of Komo’s progress in the democratic preliminary elections in New York in June.
“I would like to see two people leaking and be one of them,” Trump said at a White House dinner in early September. “I think this race can be won.”
“I don’t think you can win unless you have one over one, because somehow got a little lead,” Trump added. “I don’t like to see a Communist who becomes a mayor, I will tell you that.”
Adams was elected as a democracy in 2021. But he decided earlier this year to seek to re -election as a separate survey, amid opinion polls in his party after confronting federal corruption and then seeing it fell by the Justice Ministry of Justice, who argued that it needed to disrupt Adams in the emigration of the president and the creation.
Adams was charged in September 2024 on charges of federalism, including bribery violations and financing of campaigns. the The Ministry of Justice claimed “He used his prominent positions in the New York City Government to obtain illegal contributions to the campaign and luxury travel.”
Adams’s announcement was reported for the first time New York Post.
