‘Fauda’ stars to headline October 7 movie ’12 Hours in October’, watch the trailer

Inspired by the events of October 7, 2023, the film depicts the separate perspectives of different characters as they face the terror and chaos of the first twelve hours of the fateful day. Above is the first trailer for the film.

Danny Abecasar is directing and producing from the screenplay by Costa Kondelopoulos. The duo has previously worked together in films including Inside the man and EngineerBoth star Emile Hirsch. The DoP in the movie is Barry Markowitz (Crazy heart).

Deep C Digital releases the film domestically on VOD platforms on January 6 and plans a limited theatrical debut in Los Angeles and New York with the potential for expansion.

The full synopsis reads: “Inspired by the events of October 7, 2023, the film depicts the separate perspectives of different characters as they face the horror and chaos of the first twelve hours of that fateful day. Talia and Barack, a young couple in love, attend a music festival and celebrate their engagement with their friends… Gabi and his wife Maya reconcile after a night of fighting over the idea of ​​having a baby… Ariel, mother For two children, she takes advantage while her children are asleep and quietly enjoying early morning coffee…and two Palestinian brothers, Nabil and Malek, prepare to tear apart the lives of all these people. As missiles pierce the sky and sirens begin to wail, each of these characters is set on a new path from which most will never return.

Director Abikaser told Deadline: “Once I decided to make this film, I understood that I had to shoot it on location where it happened. I knew I was making the most important film of my life and I wanted to make sure it was real and accurate to what happened in the first 12 hours. It wasn’t easy to shoot the film because a lot of the actors and extras were already there when it happened. We only used a minute and a half of actual footage, and everything was recreated.”

He continued: “I knew it would bring up a lot of emotions and even PTSD in some, but I also know how important it is to tell this story right. I received incredible support when I first put the concept of the film together, and I’ve continued to move forward with the mission in mind. We had psychologists and psychiatrists on set every day to help everyone cope with it. In this film, we follow four points of view. It’s told from both sides. The world needs To see this powerful film. I had many friends and family affected, and everything that happened is very personal. “It was important to me to tell this story and do it justice.”
