Go Bill NPR, PBS financing amid Elon Musk’s Doge audits


First on the fox: Republican lawmakers are renewing the efforts made by federal funding for NPR and PBS amid Trump’s management disorder of the federal bureaucracy.

Representative Claudia Tini, RN.Y. , A draft law in the House of Representatives that would stop taxpayers dollars from going to the media broadcaster and REROUTE current federal funds to reduce national debt, according to the legislative text that was presented by Fox News Digital.

“As a former owner and publisher of the newspapers, I understand the vital role of balanced and non -party media. Unfortunately, the outlets funded by taxpayers chose this defense of accuracy, using public dollars to enhance a political agenda instead of reporting the facts,” told Tini News News Digital.

The Senate counterpart of the Senate, Senator Mike Lee, who told Fox News Digital, “The Americans have hundreds of news and comments sources, and they do not need politically biased media outlets. We must see and hear.

Republicans have long targeted NPR and PBS, accusing both liberal bias sharing outlets while receiving government financing.

Less than 1 % of NPR financing comes directly from the federal government, although the other financing comes indirectly from grants and dollars for local member stations that are then pushed to NPR. More than a third of its financing comes from corporate care.

PBS also gets a combination of federal funds through other methods.

However, the Republican Party’s demands to end the federal allocations for both outlets come now at a time when the executive branch is searching for places to prevent government spending that is not in line with the agenda of Trump administration.

Elon Musk, who leads the Ministry of Governmental Efficiency Initiative (DOGE) in Trump, criticizes NPR in the past.

Soon after X, MUSK was hit for a short period of NPR with a “state” media mark, which is usually dedicated to the media arm of authoritarian governments.

The Tini Bill is one of the multiple efforts targeting NPR and PBS during this conference. Representative Margori Taylor Green, R-GA, said. The sub -committee chairs Dog under the House of Representatives Control Committee, that it wants to witness each organization on a new committee.
