Sometimes we want to try something different but we’re not sure about it. Fortunately, Apple news is on our website iPhone It has a food section that can help us decide on a delicious meal and then gives us an easy-to-follow recipe.

When Apple released iOS 18.4 in March, that update made it easier to find new recipes to try at home through the new Apple News section. The new section features recipes from publications like Good Housekeeping, Food & Wine, and more. You can find other food and restaurant related stories there too.

You can also tap the spoon and grid icon located at the top right corner of your iPhone screen to access Recipe catalogue.

Once you are in Recipe cataloguethe fork and knife icon will be replaced with a square icon that you can click to access your account Saved recipes. To save recipes, tap the recipe you’re interested in, then tap Save. The recipe will be stored in your device Saved recipes.

How much does Apple News Food cost?

The Food section is free for everyone, but the free version only gives you access to a few stories and recipes each day. With the free version of this section, I have access to a million dollars worth of recipes Sausage balls And this Cucumber-avocado-tomato sandwich. I’m not a picky eater and would gladly try both, but I wasn’t able to access many of the other recipes I was interested in with the free version.

However, if you subscribe to Apple News Plus ($13 per month) or Apple One Layer 1 ($38 per month), you get full access to the food section. This means you can browse a catalog of thousands of recipes and articles, save recipes to your digital cookbook, and access recipes offline. The recipe catalog makes it easy to find dinner ideas, vegetarian recipes, and even cocktails.

What else does Apple News Food offer?

You can also access what Apple calls Apple News Food Cooking Mode, which displays step-by-step instructions in full screen mode on your device. You’ll see one step at a time, but you’ll have to swipe on your screen to move to the next step. I tried asking Siri to move to the next step, and the digital assistant ignored my pleas. This might be a problem if you’re cooking with your hands covered in flour, grease, or anything else you don’t want getting on your phone, but you should still move on to the next step.

This feature prevents your iPhone from sleeping or dimming the screen. Which is great, because you’ll no longer have to unlock your phone every minute to make sure you’re following directions (not that I ever did that or anything like that).

Cooking mode can also display the full list of ingredients for each recipe by clicking ingredients near the top of your screen, which means you won’t have to type out a full list of ingredients the next time you head to the grocery store.

However, you can’t copy and paste these components or directions from News to another app, such as Notes. You can share a link to a recipe, or save it as a quick note, but if you want to ask your roommate or partner to pick up some ingredients while they’re out and about, you won’t be able to easily copy and paste those ingredients into a message. To access cooking mode, tap the recipe in the app you want to try, then tap He cooks.
