I wake up! I wake up! Hilary Duff returns to singing with her first album in ten years Luck… or something. “I’m often asked how I still think straight after growing up in this industry,” she said in a statement released on November 21. “The album title is my way of answering that question. It’s luck, but there’s also a lot of weight in ‘…or something like that.’ A lot of the things I’ve been through along the way are in there, and I feel like that’s ultimately what shaped me.” The album will be released on February 20, and will be her first album since 2015’s Breathe in. Exhale. (She clearly has a passion for punctuation in titles.) On the album cover, she appears on a blue-gray carpet wearing a brown jacket and sheer stockings. This is the Lizzie McGuire that Disney never wanted you to see.
Duff actually released the album’s first single titled “Mature” on November 6. The song dates back to the beginning of her career, where she describes herself in the third person. “She looks / Like she could be your daughter,” she says to herself / “Like me before I got smarter / When I was so flattered to hear you say / ‘You’re so mature for your age, honey.’” Duff will also take part in the Small Rooms, Big Nerves mini tour in January, making stops in London, Toronto, Brooklyn and Ontario. But if you learn about it now – it’s too late! All tour dates were sold out. There’s something going on Everywhere you go.
