HIMSSCAST: The Basics of Data Governance – Lessons from UC Health, Part 1

For more than a decade, the UNC Health participated in a concerted effort to get its arms around its groups of clinical, financial and operational data, and harnessing them towards providing high -quality and more efficient care.

In this first episode of a three -week series on HimssCast, we talked to the UNC Health System Director about Greg KUHNEN analytical solutions, and asked him first about some of the basic schedules for active data management. One of his first advice? Do not call it data governance.

Kuhnen describes the people, the process and technology that must be necessary to create an effective analysis program that measures the institution at the institution level. He explained how the UNC work years with his Analytics- first with their adoption model for maturity of analyzes, and recently with the updated maturity assessment form and results-help the health system on that trip.
