Hundreds of thousands flee the devastating Israeli army attack on Gaza City

At least 85 Palestinians were killed by Israeli strikes or shooting through the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, and most of them are in Gaza City, according to the Ministry of Health in Jeep Hamas. The Israeli army said that four of its members were killed during the fighting in southern Gaza.

Israeli military officials estimated that there are between 2000 to 3000 Hamas fighters and the remaining Islamic jihad in the city and its surrounding area, and that the process to get rid of it may take months.

Along with some political leaders in the country, military officials suspect that Hamas maintains at least some of the 20 Israeli hostages in Gaza City.

But family members are among those who have been detained and repeatedly expressed their concerns that the new attack will endanger the lives of their loved ones and led regular protests against the attack and called for their negotiating release.

Hamas military suite, The Qassam Brigade said, in a statement on Thursday that Israel’s prisoners “were distributed inside the neighborhoods of Gaza City, and we will not be concerned about their lives as long as Netanyahu decides to kill them.”

For those who leave Gaza City, the arduous journey in the south is another displacement, as many of their homes have already been forced over a period of approximately two years of war that killed more than 65,000 people, according to Palestinian health officials.

But thousands remain in their situation, not sure of the location of safety in the conflict, which began with the terrorist attacks led by Hamas on October 7, 2023, in which 1,200 people were killed and about 250 hostages.

On Friday, the Israeli army, which was falling out of leaflets urging residents to flee towards a “humanitarian area” dedicated to the southern region, opened a new road for 48 hours along Salah al -Din’s historic road, which runs along the tape. But it prevented the civil traffic from traveling down the coastal road, forcing huge numbers of people to walk.

After she made a stressful trip to the southern city of Khan Yunis in Gaza, Rihan’s remains on the side of the road, and his daughters Sanad, 2, and Gaanima, 4, played in a nearby pool. His wife, Nasr, used dirty water to wash their faces.

“Our children die a thousand deaths every day,” she told a local journalist. “At night, the cold consumes them, and during the day, the heat devoured them – the sun rises.”

With a lot of new expatriates, there is a lack of tents in the city, and Rafat said that he will not be able to bear the cost of $ 180 so that the family’s purchase of a tent is costing anyway.

So far, sleeping on the side of the road appears to be the only option for the Rayhan family.

“There is no mat, cover, no blanket,” said Rafat. “At night I take off my shirt and cover my children with him.”
