If trust is so important, why don’t we measure it?

Ask senior executives whether trust is an important part of leadership, and you’ll get emphatic agreement that it is. In my country Interviews With over 70 senior leaders across multiple sectors, every CEO I spoke to emphasized that leadership confidence was key to achieving positive results such as Employee performancecustomer loyalty, ProfitabilityAnd innovation. But when asked how their organizations measure leadership trust, most remained silent. Some pointed to alternative metrics such as Net Promoter Score or employee engagement surveys. Others admitted that they did not believe trust could be measured at all, considering it “too soft” and too subjective.
