“International law” trumps your First Amendment – even inside the synagogue – tense
Two nights ago, protesters stood outside a synagogue chanting “globalize intifada,” essentially a rallying cry to kill Jewish people. It is also a call against Israel remaining a safe place for Jewish people to live in the Middle East.
Dora Pekic, Mamdani’s spokeswoman, told me that the mayor-elect “did not encourage the language used in last night’s protest and will continue to do so,” in response to protesters outside the Park East Synagogue who chanted “Death to the IDF” and “Globalization of the Intifada.”

Or, violating international law? Someone should tell Mamdani that Americans don’t worry about that.
When asked to clarify the closing warning, Mamdani’s team said it was “specifically referring to the organization’s promotion of settlement activity beyond the Green Line,” which “violates international law.”

The organization can promote whatever it wants. America has the First Amendment to the Constitution and “international law” can abide by it.
Why is international law mentioned at all???

I am glad to hear the mayor condemn the continued use of mosques to support Hamas and I hope he will follow through.

For some reason, he did not even glance at this “violation of international law.”

They appear to be preventing or harassing those entering the church

It appears that the protesters are already violating US law, which is a real problem.
I’m sorry, but the mayor-elect must resign today.
His statement is very problematic. Trump will order his arrest, immediately strip him of his citizenship, and deport him to Uganda as a persona non grata.
His parents will be removed as well.

good!
So let me get it straight:
According to Zahran Mamdani, undocumented immigrants and criminals who enter the United States illegally should be protected, but is the migration of Jews to the land of their ancestors a “violation of international law”? pic.twitter.com/KbhbKaTynH

It’s like he’s a POS hypocrite.
amazing. This line of “international law” is very troubling. https://t.co/W6jxaMpVqK

Is the Democratic Socialist mayor of New York City using the term “violation of international law” in relation to synagogues even before he is sworn in? This is my shocked face.
– Joanne Mason (@JoanneMason11) November 21, 2025
It’s not shocking, just terrifying.
Do they think this is smart? Requiring Jews not to use synagogues to tell fellow Jews how to move to Israel — which many Jews view as a commandment — because Jews living in Israel are violating international law.
No wonder so many Jews in New York are interested in such events. https://t.co/Ik1i6SQUGY

Can you blame them?
It’s absolutely disgusting of Mamdani to insinuate that an event encourages immigration to Israel – for New Yorkers who don’t like their neighbors calling for an “intifada”! – It is a violation of international law.
It will be much worse for New York Jews than people realize. https://t.co/Xh6xn8XEBs

It must stop.
