IPhone 17: Do not enjoy the artificial intelligence button? Here is how it was extinguished for good

iPhone 17 here. While watching people get the new iPhone Air and other Apple accessories online, I remembered my enthusiasm to upgrade to iPhone 16 in last fall. I was ready to direct my interior photographer with beautiful cameras, and don’t worry much about charging them every night, thanks to the battery life better – and very exciting for me – to have a new Barbie Pink phone. But what I did not expect is that a new addition would aim to destroy my entire experience with my new phone.

If you upgrade from the oldest iPhone in the past few years, you are surprised by seeing two new button on the latest devices: the control buttons of the procedure and camera. The procedure button is a small button higher than the audio officers. It was presented with iPhone 15 Pro models, which is a customized button that can do anything from converting Ringer to Dunkin’s coffee request to go. It is small, decorated and her own business minds.

It is the camera control button that causes all chaos.

Camera control is a new button on the iPhone 16 assortment of what the name suggests: it controls the camera. It is supposed to help you take pictures quickly and work as a shortcut to launch the camera application. You can move your finger with a Mini settings menu to adjust the camera enlargement, among other things. But there is a real reason for the presence of the button: artificial intelligence. All iPhone 17 also contains this button as well.

Like each other technical company, Apple was invested hard in artificial intelligence. Apple Intelligence was the driving force behind a lot of the company’s innovation, with many artificial intelligence updates in the new iOS 26. But there is no greater sign of Apple diving in AI than the camera control button. It is the physical path to visual intelligence, and it is a new self -powered feature that allows you to use the camera to wipe the real world objects to get more information about it. This seems unfamiliar, but it does not make sense for me, a feature that has not been seduced at all.

There are other use of the camera control button, including ways to customize your button settings, and my colleagues are found through their testing. But this does not change the fact that your camera control button is completely annoying.

It is a long button, on the size of the power button, on the lower right side of the device. It is very easy to benefit from chance. I opened my camera while putting my phone in my pocket, while driving and using navigation applications and once when I was turning off my phone all night, leaving the camera application open all night and draining my phone battery.

And if that is not annoying enough, every time I intend to open my camera by controlling the camera, it takes several taps to do so. Go the shape.

I ask you: What is the goal of the button that does it when you do not need and does not work when you do? There are already three ways to reach your iPhone camera from the lock screen that takes seconds to use. Camera control is an expensive and very reliable addition to the latest iPhone devices, all for the features of artificial intelligence that many people do not need or use. There was no single moment since I stopped controlling the camera, as I missed it.

I realize that my fist while controlling the camera is simple complaints between what was a comprehensive positive experience with my new phone. But as an Amnesty International correspondent, I can only see this a worrying sign. Many technology companies have fixed their programs and devices to be easy to artificial intelligence, whether Google exposes random mail with GEMINI built in each Google app, or the new Copilot button on Microsoft Windows or the Apple camera control button.

Technology companies are very eager to get the artificial intelligence train and did not think enough whether these features are enhanced or out of our experience in using their products. Not enough options to cancel the subscription. Thank God for me and my camera roll, Apple does. But I hope in the future, that these sharp measures will not be necessary as companies become more intentional with their advantages of AI-EAA-
