Wink Martindale, a pioneer at the Game Show show and “Tic-TAG-Dough”, “Gambit” and “High Rollers”, died on Tuesday. It was 91.
The news was confirmed by its official Facebook page. In the postpartum postpartum post, the page wrote: “It is with a very sad heart with our heart here in Wink Martindale Games. We must report the legendary Wink Martindale death. Wink was amazing, funny and talented. Really legend! More we survived soon.”
Martindale, 74, spent the radio and television work, began his 17 -year -old career as DJ before making a name for himself at the Memphis -based WHBQ station. Famosuly, in 1954, DJ Dewey Phillips broadcast the first Elvis Presley record, “This is all well” for the first time. Upon hearing the path, the Martindale Mother’s mother called to see if he could come to his chat station. It is believed that the conversation is useful in launching the young Prisclie profession.
Martindale itself released a number of successful records, including the Dec of Cards, which peaked in seventh place on Billboard Hot 100 and sold more than a million copies.
In the early 1960s, Martinel moved to Los Angeles and became a host to KhJ. He would continue to work at many stations in the Greater Los Angeles region, including KRLA, KFBW, KGIL-O and KMPC.
In 1964, his first disturbance fell as a gaming host on “What is this song?” He later moved to offers such as “Gambit”, “Words and Music” and “Tic-TAC Dough”. Other hosting credits include “The Last Word”, “The Great Getaway Game”, “Trivial Pursuit”, “Headline Chasers” and more.
