Jacoby Myers finally got the trade he requested as the Raiders reportedly deal wide receiver to the Jaguars

The Las Vegas Raiders did not honor Jacoby Myers’ preseason trade request. But with the playoffs out of earshot, they were finally able to deal at wideout before the deadline.

Myers is headed to the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who reported Tuesday that the Raiders will receive fourth- and sixth-round picks in exchange for Myers.

Myers was in the final year of his three-year, $33 million contract with Las Vegas. He signed with the Raiders in 2023 after spending four seasons with the New England Patriots, who originally brought him on board as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina.

Despite Myers posting a 1,000-yard receiving season in 2024, the Raiders did not extend him before the 2025 campaign. Before his Week 8 bye, Myers, who will soon turn 29, told reporters that he “absolutely” still wants to be traded but also will remain professional about the situation.

At that point, Myers was tied for the team lead with 29 points. He trails only Tre Tucker with 329 receiving yards in six games. He missed a 31-0 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7 due to knee and toe injuries sustained in a win over the Tennessee Titans the week before.

The Raiders have only two wins so far this year. In addition to beating the hapless Giants, they picked up a season-opening road win against Myers’ old team, the Patriots.

New England and Las Vegas have gone in opposite directions since their Week 1 meeting, with Mike Vrabel turning the Pats into AFC East contenders.

On the other hand, Pete Carroll’s first year at the helm in Vegas didn’t go according to plan. Perhaps most notable is that the Raiders’ offense, coordinated by Chip Kelly, has not yet taken off.

Quarterback Geno Smith didn’t pick up where he left off with the Seattle Seahawks. Rookie running back Ashton Genty didn’t necessarily hit the ground running. And tight end Brock Powers missed time with a knee injury.

Now the Raiders are moving off their high from a year ago.

Myers is looking for his fifth consecutive 800-plus yard receiving season. After Tuesday’s trade, he will try to reach that mark with the Jaguars.
