James Comey responds the indictment: “I am innocent”
Former FBI director James Komei appeared to be challenging in a new video released on Thursday in response to his accusation, and announced his innocence and says he was “great confidence in the federal judicial system.”
“My family and I have known for years that there are costs to stand in front of Donald Trump. But we could not imagine ourselves in any other way,” Kumi said in a video on Instagram. “We will not live on our knees, and you should not.”
“My heart is broken to the Ministry of Justice, but I have great confidence in the federal judicial system,” Kumi said. “I am innocent. So let’s spend a trial.”
On Thursday, the major federal jury accused Kumei on one of the charges of making a false statement and an obstruction charge to conduct Congress caused by the certificate he presented to Congress in 2020.

The indictment comes almost a week after President Donald Trump complained about a social media position that he saw statements that he was “nothing” about Komei and Trump’s other opponents.
