Jay Baruchel and Ed Helms’ first look at The Stunt Driver
Exclusive: On the eve of the US Film Market, Protagonist Pictures has achieved international sales for Jay Baruchel’s film. Stunt driver. UTA Independent Film Group represents the US rights.
Above is a first look photo of Baruchel (This is the end) and Ed Helms (Waste(in Michael Doss)Stopper) is a biographical comedy that is currently in post-production. Also starring Ben Foster (High water hell), Lawrence LeBoeuf (Shursi) and Dan Bakkedahl (Veep).
Stunt driver The film tells the true-life 1970s story of Ken Carter (Baruchel), the fearless and fearless race car driver who risked everything to jump a rocket-powered car over the mile-wide St. Lawrence Seaway – a highly publicized stunt that would take him from Canada to the United States. Battling personal demons, public suspicion, and a reckless competitor, the realistic tale follows Carter’s relentless quest for remembrance.
Jennifer Wilson (Fubar: Balls to the wall) is produced under Film Cardinal, the production banner she shares with writer/director Dowse. Baruchel executive produces alongside Mongrel Media’s Andrew Frank. Joe Iacono and Lisa Wolowski also executive produce. Telefilm Canada and SODEC are financing.
