Jerry Jones gets a rave review from Billy Bob Thornton for his cameo in “Landman.”

Jerry Jones is widely known for his business acumen and his decades-long tenure as owner and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys.
But the 83-year-old actor recently showed off his acting chops when he made a guest appearance in the critically acclaimed TV series “Landman.” Jones’ appearance received rave reviews from the star of the show, actor and musician Billy Bob Thorton.
The episode featuring Jones became available for streaming in January. Jones filmed himself providing some emotional dialogue about family.

“And they’re involved in everything. They’re involved in the leasing business, oil and gas, real estate. So, when I got the Cowboys, I got it so we could all work together. I thought I was doing it for them, but the person who got the most out of it was me.”

Thornton appeared on the Manning Cast on Monday and praised Jones’ acting skills.

“I wasn’t surprised because he was telling his own story.” said the Oscar winner. “I mean, if it had been written in a way where he had to say every line, it might have been different. But he was actually telling his life story. If you ask someone, sit down and tell him — he cried. I mean, he was very good. If you can get a non-actor to be himself, he’s better than actors.”

On the football field, the Jones Cowboys lost 44-24 to the Denver Broncos on Sunday. The Arizona Cardinals host the Cowboys in Week 9.
