Kalb Williams, Ben Johnson, Birz enters a camp with “noble” targets. Can they reach them?
Chicago – Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams are entering their first training camp together with the Chicago Bears on the same page.
The head coach and quarterback duo are setting some very big and very clear goals for themselves, whether that be an emphasis on game management and situational football for Johnson or some more “loftier” goals for Williams.
“It’s not a secret,” Johnson said. “I told [Williams] I would like this season to complete 70 % of its balls.
Johnson added: “It is a noble goal, but it is a goal that we will seek,” Johnson added. “For this reason, we will use this as a standard and a kind of work from there.”
For reference, last season’s completion rate was 62.5 %. There were only five five cortresses at the league level and the completion rate was more than 70 % with at least 300 interruptions. The former midfielder of Hanson, Jared Goff, was one of them.
Johnson and Williams were in contact throughout the summer, whether it was one of Williams registration texts or longer talks about football, family, or even things like cars. When they are in the building, Williams will appear to Johnson’s office just to speak.
The towns have not been operated, and the practice did not start preparing for the season, but it is increasingly clear that there is a strong relationship between the first coach for the first time and his new and his new.
There is a football side in everything as well, of course. This is what they have, after all. The work did not stop in the summer, although the spouses are walking in his slightly separate ways.
Johnson Williams gave “home duty” this summer. There were things that were confirmed in the spring that lasted-things like Williams work below the middle, and made it before Snap and being more decisive.
Calip Williams is looking to bounce after his junction as a rise in 2024.
Williams took to listen to the audio notes for playing calls to continue comfort. He even practiced his rhythm while driving.
But there were also more specific tasks.
Williams told me: “Part of the homework is – some of them were old.” “Some of them were not necessarily a home duty, but help in external seasons. You know, pass through the game book for 30 minutes, 40 minutes, per hour. Twenty -four hours, every day. If you cannot give up an hour or 30 minutes to go to your game book, you may not be in this place. One day I threw it and went to my feet every day I was there too.”
Johnson and Williams’ relationship is the driving force behind this type of preparation, which should help the Williams development during the next six weeks.
And that is when the bullet is alive and when the Williams can work on its goals – some of which are historical.
“It is clear that I have self -signs,” Williams said. “This is the first passer -by 4000 yards in the history of Beers. This is a goal for me. Seventy percent, and this helps the team, to preserve [us] In the field, it places us in better situations. After that, otherwise, I just try to go down and record the largest possible number of points that we can with each engine. This is a type of self -mutation, and it is clear, otherwise, you have to win. This is a success for me, this is the success of the team. This is all we wish and wish. “
Individual success by Qurtubbere means the general success of the team, but helping this success is Johnson himself, who must develop as a coach trying to move from the coordinator. It is not easy to move – you are conceited in decisions that affect the entire team in the field and outside it. You are the man who should give the green light to go in fourth place. You are the man who should contact the captains. The transition will not be without challenges or bumps on the road. But Johnson also thought about it.
Johnson said: “I think the only thing I was thinking a lot tends to people around me,” Johnson said. “Therefore, I got an experienced training team, from Dennis Allen to Richard Smith to Richard Hitor. We have a number of players who did it at a high level for a long time, so I will go to them to get advice when certain things arise.”

Johnson emphasized the construction of this season, even that he is similar to a documentary on Netflix called “Thunderbirds” that he watched this summer. Johnson saw many similarities between the trick pilots who are assembled and expected to put their lives in the hands of each other. While the risks may not be high like F-16 military pilots, Johnson, his coaches and players will all meet to see success to move forward-their livelihoods depend on them.
The biggest question of the bears at the moment is if Williams is the future. He is not the first midfielder who was very described to come to Chicago with the weight of the concession on his shoulders. This is not the first season outside where, on paper, improve. This is not the first time that Chicago fans have got their hopes.
But is it different this time?
The goals set by Johnson and Williams for themselves indicate this. As Williams alluded to this, the bears had never passed by 4000 yards in the history of the team that exceeds the century. Chicago was not synonymous with a good cortresser or a strong crime, for this issue.
If Williams complete 70 % of his passes and throw more than 4000 yards while Johnson learns to manage the game and Bears Excel in circumstantial football, it may be different this time.
