Killer Films and TomKat Media define creative partnership and reveal joint slate


Exclusive: TomKat Media and Killer Films have entered into a creative alliance that will result in the co-production of several projects. Under the agreement, TomKat will provide development financing for several Killer projects, with Killer co-producing select TomKat films.

Projects include an adaptation of Pulitzer finalist Duff Wilson’s environmental thriller; Fateful harvestcoined by Daniel Stiepleman (On the basis of gender). Based on Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize finalist Seattle Times investigative series, Fateful harvest It tells the story of Patty Martin – the mayor of a small Washington town called Quincy – who discovers that American industries are dumping toxic waste into farmers’ fields and home gardens by labeling it as “fertilizer.”

There too Box No. 1a fictional drama about the cover-up of love letters between Eleanor Roosevelt and journalist Lorena “Hick” Hickok, written by TomKat’s Marcella Davison Aviles.

Kat Taylor and Davison Aviles will produce these projects for TomKat Media, while Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler will produce for Killer Films.

Vachon, who serves as co-president of Killer Films, added, “Killer and TomKat share a common mission of bringing poignant, underrepresented stories to the big screen. The idea is that through this partnership, we will be able to better ensure the survival of these types of films that make audiences feel seen and entertained as well.”

Known for countless indie classics, Killer Films has recently produced titles such as Late fame, Materialists, A different man, On fast horses and May Decemberamong other things. Vachon and Koffler are represented in the company by Cinetic.

Founded with a mission to develop and produce content from historically marginalized storytellers across platforms including film, television, podcasts and the performing arts, TomKat Media is represented by Rick Berg and Rich Freeman at Code Management and attorneys Bill Skrzyniarz and Tanya Malian.

Fateful harvestWilson and Martin are repped by Echo Lake Entertainment, with Gersh’s Frank Woliger repping Stillman.
