Leaders, DC Reach Deal for the new 4B stadium on RFK

Washington, DC, was the scene in the National Press Club, which announced the deal of the Washington Stadium, the leaders of the leaders, reminded us of what the organization once enjoyed at the RFK stadium several years ago: a crowded house, a lot of chanting and many people dreaming about the great victory, including Super Bowls.

This is what the leaders hope to feel again in the province of Colombia, and now that they reached an agreement with the city to build a stadium on the site where they enjoyed the greatest success of their success.

The leaders reached an agreement to build a 65,000-seat stadium on the site, where the RFK-Stadium is still home from 1961 to 1997-standing. It will be a dramatic stadium, although owner Josh Harris said they still decide whether the dome will be withdrawn or not. He said he would explore playing in the grass field.

“Without exaggeration, this will be the best stadium in the country when it is built,” Harris said.

The dome was part of a greater vision of Harris and the city: they want to host more than just the leaders games, and they expect dozens of events throughout the year, which led to one of the major visions: hosting Super Bowl.

When asked about the amount of construction of a new stadium that would enhance Washington’s chances of hosting the championship game, US Football Association Commissioner Roger Godel said: “I didn’t come here to announce that, but I will say greatly.”

He later said: “I really think this society can be a great host for Super Bowl. [new] The stadium is always the lost piece. “

The project, which will include about $ 4 billion, will include $ 2.7 billion in leaders to build the stadium and $ 1.147 billion from the region to cover the costs of other aspects. They expect retail stores, restaurants, cars, a multi -sports complex and more in the 179 -acre property. The stadium will open in 2030.

However, first, funding must obtain the approval of the Capital Council.

Kenyan R. McDovovi, a member of the Council, one of the members of the Council who attended the announcement, “This is a huge opportunity for the nation’s capital.”

The leaders part is the largest private investment in the history of the boycott.

“We are trying to build the best stadium in the country or even in the world, and we felt that we wanted to give him the maximum opportunity to succeed,” Harris said.

For Mayor Morel Boser, it came to the simple economy. She and others referred to federal employees who lose their jobs, so the boycott needed to find ways to enhance revenues. “If you need to add revenues as we do, you cannot leave 180 acres vacancies. If you want to attract business, you should be around the work.”

With Harris grew up in the area and attended the games in RFK, there was an atmosphere of nostalgia to a possible return.

“Winger 7 is the only wing in Colombia, which has no anchor,” said Windl Felder, a member of the Council, who represents the wing 7, where the stadium sits. “This deal gives Ward 7 an opportunity to change this.”

While Godel made his way to the press conference, he said he remembered what he would happen to the games in RFK.

“In some ways, he is very emotional,” he said. “This is a very special day, many of us have been looking for for many years. … the future of leaders is bright.”

Harris recalled watching Big Washington Home Games on TV and how the camera will appear shots for Washington and White House. Those scenes are still echo with him.

“All these things were incredibly motivated by all of us,” he said.

Harris said that these experiences provided him with a vision of what he wanted.

“The fact that we grew up here gave us that vision for not looking at the deteriorating concrete [of RFK] But remember in our minds the living nature of what football revolves around Washington. Regardless of where you were, your race, your religion, on Sunday, I was a football lover in Washington. “

Harris bought the team from Dan Snyder in July 2023. Since that time, the organization has transformed the organization during the era of General Manager Adam Peters, coach Dan Quinn, and with midfielder Jayen Daniels, he has one of the most exciting young players in the league. The next step in this shift is to build a new stadium to replace the northwest in Landover, Maryland, a stadium that has been soluble for years.

“It is not measured in many ways,” said Godel. “This market is very important, and I think I have a privilege that everyone here is proud of that to the football field in a positive way and now to get a stadium that returns their team to the capital, this is a really big step and something great for the American Football Association.”

Washington won three Super Bulls in the period 1982-1991 and played in five with the recall of RFK Stadium Home. RFK was a place known to her atmosphere, with emotional fans and one group of stands that would bounce up and down. Harris said they may try to repeat this on the new stadium. Although the US Football Association has not played there since 1996, Harris said the league understood the “RFK power”.

“My vision is to bring this closer to our RFK,” Harris said. “RFK was a really inspiring place.”

Although the work is still to persuade the Capital Council to agree to funding – Harris said he was confident that he would “happen” because “the project will sell itself” – at the present time, was at the news conference to reach this critical step. During a meeting at the mayor’s office last week, Harris said, Buser told him, “It is time to go.”

After several days, they were discussing the deal in front of several hundred people in the National Press Club.

“We are returning the stadium to the place where it should be,” said Doug Williams, the chief adviser in Washington, who played in the organization 1986-1989, who led the team to win by winning after the 1987 season. “It is like going home.”
