Letters: Obituary of Alan Howarth | Alan Swerdlow and Ruth Lister

In 1993, the Peter Morris Foundation purchased the abandoned building which was to become the main building Compton Verney An art gallery in Warwickshire. I was a consultant on the project, and Alan Howarth was the local MP for Stratford-on-Avon. He visited the project when it was still just a vision, and was a great help in advising on local matters.

One of Alan Howarth’s many contributions to the life of the House of Lords was his active support of the mindfulness programme. Many of us, including Alan himself, have benefited greatly from it.
