Lori Orlando, CBS News’ executive director of talent, is leaving
Lori Orlando, who served as senior vice president of talent strategy and development at CBS News and Stations, is leaving the network.
Orlando announced its exit in a memo to employees on Monday. She joined CBS News in January 2016 after serving as a senior executive at ESPN, where she oversaw talent recruitment and development since 2008.
Her exit follows others in the news division under new owners Skydance-Paramount and a new president, Barry Weiss, who was named editor-in-chief of the news division last month. Last week, Paramount went through a round of layoffs, with nearly 100 employees in the news division affected. Other recent exits include Claudia Milne, who heads standards and practices, and John Dickerson, director of standards and practices CBS Evening News co-anchor who said he will leave the network at the end of the year.
The departure of the network’s top talent executive highlights the extent to which the network’s new owners plan to overhaul the division, with it expected CBS Evening News You will get a renewal. The case reported that Weiss expressed interest in names including Bret Baier, although he noted that his contract with Fox News runs through 2028.
