Anna Bates
Anna Pets wrote an article on journalists who condemn the authorities’ behavior during Los Angeles protests.
Many journalists say they were attacked by the police while covering the demonstrations during the past few days, and called for respect for freedom of the press.
On Sunday, Australian journalist Lauren Thomasi was shot from nine news in the leg with a rubber bullet while reporting the protests.
In a statement, nine news said that Thomasi “was shocked by a rubber bullet” and said that it and its operator in the camera “are safe and will continue their basic work that covers these events.”
The network added: “This incident is a blatant reminder of the underlying risks that journalists can face during the reporting of the front lines of the protests, which confirms the importance of their role in providing vital information.”

Meanwhile, hundreds of naval infantry stand in the Sail Beach area, 30 miles south of Los Angeles, an American official told Reuters.
The National Guard maintains the presence of about 2000 soldiers, which is less than 50 % of 4000 people to be activated.
Marines and the National Guard do not have any detention powers, and there is only to protect federal buildings.

Robert Maki
The Guardian reported the protests against ice raids in Los Angeles, where Donald Trump is moving his administration’s efforts to detain illegal immigrants.
My colleague Robert Maki has verified the fact that Trump’s president threw at the military base Fort Prague, which included lies and conspiracy theories about Los Angeles.
Here are Robert’s piece excerpts:
Trump falsely claims that the demonstrators carry foreign flags as part of the “foreign invasion”
In his deep partisan speech in Fort Prague, Trump made an unfounded claim that the protests against immigration raids in Los Angeles led by “rioters carry foreign flags with the aim of continuing the foreign invasion.”
The comments were accused of Trump’s senior advisers and writer Stephen Miller, who wrote on Sunday on social media that “foreign citizens, waving foreign flags” were “riots”, and a baseless claim by Christie Nayyv, Minister of Internal Security Donald Trump, who accused the Mexican President earlier this week Claudia Shinbom “of encouraging violent protest.”
Shinbom said on Tuesday that the prosecution was “completely false.”
In recent days, some demonstrators waved the relations of Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador – in addition to the flags that combine the banners of those countries and the American flag – in presenting ethnic pride and solidarity with immigrants in their society now targeted by immigration officials.

Trump tells Trump to the height of families and children. “
The mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass, President Donald Trump, said that his decision to deploy the army does not make the city safer.
“The Trump administration told us that they were following violent criminals, gang members and drug dealers,” Bass posted on social media.
“But they went after the home warehouse. They are following families and children. This does not make Los Angeles safer.”
The metro temporarily suspended many transportation links across the center of Los Angeles, where the curfew entered at 8 pm on Tuesday. Trains and buses were suspended, leaving many passengers.
“I am a young man and is capable of the body, so it is not a big obstacle for me,” Joseph Cohen May, who used to take the metro line to the city center from Santa Monica, told the Los Angeles Times. “But there are thousands of people who live in the city center, and there are thousands of people who still need to work tomorrow in the early morning.”
“This has been terribly implemented. It seems that the mayor and the city council do not realize that there are people living in the city center,” May added.
