Machine translation is almost a solved problem

VAsco Pedro I have always believed that despite the advent of artificial intelligence (Amnesty International), having machines to translate languages as well as professional translators will always need a human in the loop. Then he saw the results of a competition held by his Lisbon-based startup, Unbabel, showcasing its latest products Amnesty International Model against human translators for the company. “I was like, ‘No, we’re done,'” he says. “Humans have finished translating.” Mr. Pedro estimates that human labor currently represents about 95% of the global translation industry. It is believed that in the next three years, human participation will decrease to almost zero.
