“Malka” Helmer Stacy Maltin sets new film starring Tovah Feldshuh
Exclusive: Production is currently underway in New York C sideIt is an independent feature film by writer and director Stacy Maltin (Triple threat), who reunites with Emmy and Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh (Nobody wants this) following her performance in the 2026 Oscar-nominated live-action short film, Owner.

C side The film follows a chaotic and heartbroken man who returns to the city in hopes of winning back his hidden ex and reconnecting with his chosen family, but finds that everyone is gone – except him. As the opening line says, “He now has a chaotic weekend to get things right…or finally let go.”
Rounding out the cast is Jessica Foske (Broadway evil and Hell’s Kitchen), social media star Kyle Gordon (behind the viral hit “Planet of the Bass”), Rivka Reyes (School of rock), stand-up comedian Jay Jordan (The problem with Jon Stewart), Rebecca Metz (shameless, Better things), Pooja Tripathi (satirical web series Brooklyn Café) and Jeffrey Weber (Producer of Maltin’s mashed Series and Ramona is middle-aged).

Before that C sideTake out Maltin Ownerthe short film written by Lenny Schwartz, which follows the titular Holocaust survivor (played by Felshuh), who begins seeing visions of her life in the camps during the current Seders. As time passes, Malka must find the hope in the present that she had in the past in order to survive. The project qualified for the Oscars after winning Best Short Narrative at the Academy Award-qualifying Cinequest Film Festival.
Maltin’s previous advantage, Triple threata quirky musical love story about the evolving relationship between three best friends about to make their Broadway debut, and in which she also stars, is currently streaming on Peacock.
