Bass said she expected the curfew, which will last until 6 am, will continue for several days.

But she confirmed that sabotage was not widespread. “It is extremely important to know that what is happening in this square mile does not affect the city. Some pictures of protests give the appearance that this is a crisis at the city level, and it is not.”

The curfew area covers the central part of the downtown area of ​​the 110th Highway to the 5th Highway, and extends to the 10th Highway to the south.

Last week, immigration agents descended in Los Angeles and began to detention individuals suspected of being documented. A number of peaceful protests were held mostly during the weekend, but directed by President Trump, the National Guard arrived in Los Angeles to maintain order. Mayor Bass, Governor Newsom and LAPD, have repeatedly emphasized that the Los Angeles Police Administration had the situation at hand, but the arrival of the National Guard only paid tensions, and 50 arrests were performed during the weekend.
